Unconfined inspirations

It's even more obvious now that they're closed: museums are an irreplaceable source of inspiration for us designers, whether we realise it or not. In terms of the intensity of emotion and memory, the direct relationship with the works they show cannot be compared with all the possible and imaginable virtual ersatz images to which the period has condemned us. The design of the folding screen created by Chambers Architects for the law firm McDermott Will & Emery France in Paris (7th district) is clearly reminiscent of Eileen Gray's geometric creations, including the 1922 brick folding screen at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. And a tribute to this daring designer and true pioneer of modern design.
